Information Report-Deputies assisted the Zavala County Sheriff's Office and United States Border Patrol early this morning after a highway chase reportedly entered Maverick County. Units responded to the call on Highway 57 at approximately 3 AM, where Border Patrol agents eventually deployed tire spikes to stop a 2008 silver Ford F-150. The driver, along with five subjects who were determined to be undocumented citizens, were taken into custody by the US Border Patrol. The Zavala County Sheriff's Office took over the scene.
Deceased Person-Deputies responded to the 200 block of Chuck Wagon Road this evening after a hospice nurse reported a female elderly patient had passed away due to medical problems. Family members arrived at the location and a Justice of the Peace was summoned to the home to pronounce the subject deceased.
