Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle/Evading arrest or Detention/Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies patrolling FM 1021 early this morning were involved in a vehicle pursuit after a failed attempt to make a traffic stop on a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe for a minor infraction. The vehicle would come to a complete stop on the 300 block of Carla Drive and the occupants attempted to flee the scene on foot. The driver, thirty-four year old Richard John Rodriguez ran towards the rear of a residence and was quickly apprehended. His passenger, twenty-two year old Loren Johnston entered a residence but was placed under arrest shortly thereafter. A check of Ms. Johnston's purse revealed a baggie containing 12 pills of a controlled substance(methylphenidate) which she did not have a prescription for. Both subjects were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing and the vehicle was towed to the Sheriff's Office for further investigation.
