Maverick County Daily Reports-September 18, 2019

Fraud/Identity Theft-A complainant on Ghost Rider Street reported unknown subject(s) obtained her personal information to open up a credit card account and made several purchases without consent.

Theft-The manager of a Family Dollar store on FM1021 reported a male subject took approximately $500.00 of hygienic products without paying. A formal report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Units responded to US Highway 277 north near FM 1907 this afternoon in reference to a single motor vehicle accident involving a 1996 Ford dumpster truck. Preliminary investigations revealed the vehicle had been travelling northbound when it veered off the road. The driver then over corrected the wheel, causing the vehicle to lose control and turn over. Air Evac crews arrived at the location to transport the driver, identified as forty-two year old Aide Medina, to a San Antonio area hospital. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived at the location and has since taken over the investigation.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle/Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A deputy was dispatched to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US highway 57 North after patrol agents detained a male and female subject who were in possession fraudulent identifications. Agents also recovered a clear plastic baggy containing a green leafy substance found inside the vehicle, which came back reported as stolen out of the Houston,Texas area. Contact was made with the subjects, identified as twenty-one year old Devin Nicholas Bracy and twenty-one year old Dominise Richardson, who each gave conflicting stories. The two were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The vehicle was impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office and the substance, which tested positive for marijuana, along with the fake identifications were placed in the evidence locker for safekeeping.
