Maverick County Daily Reports-September 20, 2019

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle-A county unit was dispatched to the 300 block of Wild Oak Drive this morning after a complainant reported he was leaving his residence to go to work when he found his truck had been stolen. A formal report was filed and the vehicle was entered into the system as reported stolen.

Criminal Mischief-Deputies met with a complainant at the Maverick County Sheriff's Office who reported three tries to his 2018 Honda CRV had been slashed by unknown subject(s) while parked inside his property. The complainant further told deputies he feared additional damage could be caused. A formal complainant was filed.

Deceased Person-A deputy was in contact with United States Border Patrol agents near the international port of entry 1, who reported coming upon an unresponsive male subject while patrolling the river. The subject was retrieved from the river and Justice of the Peace Smith was summoned to the scene to pronounce the subject deceased at approximately 1:26 PM.

Burglary of Habitation-A resident on Ramos Loop reported an unknown subject(s) had broken the front gate lock and side window to his home to gain entry without his consent. Several items were reported missing from the home and a formal report was filed.
