Maverick County Daily Reports-January 26, 2019

Motor Vehicle Accident-A county unit responded to Normandy, Texas this morning where two subjects traveling southbound on US Highway 277 reported striking a dead horse on the roadway, causing damages to both vehicles. Reports were filed and TxDot was summoned to the location to remove the deceased animal.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Loop 480 and FM1021 this afternoon where contact was made with the driver of a 2015 Dodge Charger involved in a single vehicle accident. The driver, Jesus Diaz, reported he had been travelling eastbound on FM1021 when an unknown vehicle moved too close to his lane, causing him to veer off the roadway and strike a light pole. The collision caused damages to the right quarter panel of the vehicle and minor damages to the pole. The occupants refused medical attention at the time of this report and the vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service.
