Maverick County Daily Reports-December 10, 2018

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested a male subject identified as Samuel James Ibarra this morning after a check conducted by Eagle Pass Police Department officers revealed an active warrant out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Ibarra was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Recovered Stolen Weapon-Deputies this afternoon met with CBP agents at the port of entry 2, who stated a secondary check on a vehicle entering from Mexico yielded the discovery of a handgun (Springfield XD .40 Cal). A check revealed the gun reported stolen out of San Antonio, Texas. The male subject behind the wheel of the vehicle would be placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft/Recovered Stolen Property-Units on patrol were advised of a vehicle possibly involved in a theft in progress at a local Sears store after subjects had left the store without paying for merchandise. A vehicle matching the description, an older model gray Chevrolet pickup, was seen traveling on Del Rio Blvd. A traffic stop was conducted and the stolen merchandise was found inside the bed of the truck in plain view. A male subject, Ruben de Jesus Reyna, was identified as the subject who had taken the merchandise and was placed under arrest. Two other subjects, Joanna Cedillo and Roque Martinez, were also taken into custody. The three were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The merchandise taken was valued at approximately $840.00 and was recovered from the scene.

Wanted Person-Margarito Cruz, Jr. was taken into custody after a background check revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Atascosa County. The warrant was confirmed as open and Mr. Cruz was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Identity Theft-A complainant on Sandalo Street reported unknown subject(s) had obtained his personal information without consent with the intent to defraud him. A report was filed.

Located Missing Person-A deputy responded to the international port of entry 1 this afternoon where agents at the port reported having made contact and detained a male subject recently reported as missing. The subject, German Guadalupe Pacheco, stated he had been in Mexico for the past few days with friends. He was removed as a missing person from the TCIC/NCIC database and was released.
