Maverick County Daily Reports-November 18, 2018

Motor Vehicle Accident/Possession of Marijuana/Possession of a Dangerous Drug-A unit responded to the 2400 block of Barrera Street this morning after a 2011 Chrysler 300 had reportedly impacted a property fence. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Juan Margarito Valdez, Jr., who reported he had been traveling to work when he began to use his cellular phone and veered off the road, striking a fenceline. Mr. Valdez refused medical attention and gave deputies consent to search his vehicle, which yielded the discovery of a white pill with the drug identifier "U94" and a small clear baggie containing a cigarette with marijuana characteristics. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident/Public Intoxication-A male subject was placed under arrest on public intoxication charges this afternoon after being involved in a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of FM 2030 and Carla Drive. The occupants of one vehicle involved were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment and the subject was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
