Maverick County Daily Reports-September 26, 2018

Information Report-Deputies responded to US Highway 277 North, where the driver of a 20212 Nissan Altima traveling southbound struck a 2004 KIA Sorrento exiting the Shell gas station. The driver of the Altima was taken to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and the Texas Department of Public Safety was at the scene to take over investigations.

Information Case-Deputies assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety on a vehicle pursuit where the driver of the involved fled the scene when his vehicle impacted a wooded area. The driver, later identified as Efren Lopez, was located at a residence on the 1800 block of Eidson Road. He was taken into custody by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Warrant-Abraham Salomon Chacon was taken into custody this afternoon on an active warrant charge.

Assault/Family Violence-A resident on the 800 block of Mikuliski Road reported her common-law husband had physically assaulted her after a verbal argument. A formal report was filed.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle-Deputies assisted in recovering a reported stolen vehicle when a stop conducted on a black Lincoln Navigator was one matching the description of a missing vehicle given by the Eagle Pass Police Department earlier this afternoon. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle, including the driver, who reported he did not have a proper driver's license. City of Eagle Pass police officers also arrived at the scene to report the vehicle had been taken without the owner's consent. The vehicle was then towed to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office for investigative purposes and the juvenile driver was detained at the location. The other occupants were released to their parents.
