Maverick County Daily Reports-June 23, 2018

Motor Vehicle Accident/Driving While Intoxicated/Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-While traveling on FM1021 this evening, deputies observed a motor vehicle accident. Contact was made with the driver of one of the vehicles, identified as Victor Alvarez Gardea, who displayed signs of intoxication. Deputies conducting a search of Mr. Alvarez's vehicle found a clear bag containing a green leafy substance, which would later test positive for marijuana. Mr. Alvarez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The occupants of the second vehicle involved in the accident would be transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
