Maverick County Daily Reports-June 16, 2018

Public Intoxication-Contact was made with a male subject found walking alongside Eidson Road early this morning in a disoriented state.  At approximately 5:03 AM, deputies spoke with Eduardo Castaneda, Jr., who was found to be highly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident w/ a Fixed Object-Units responded to a single motor vehicle accident in the Seco Mines sector of Maverick County this morning, where a 2011 Dodge Ram was found engulfed in flames. The truck had traveled along a dirt road near the railroad tracks off of Dr. Gates when it drove straight into a steel frame. Fire crews were on hand to safely extinguish the fire and the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene of the accident.

Theft-A complainant reported that while at a social gathering, unknown actor(s) had taken money from his wallet without consent.

Information Report-Units responded to the 400 block of Canal this afternoon after receiving reports of a structural fire. The scene was secured and fire crews were summoned to extinguish the fire. Contact was made with the homeowner who was not by the location at the time of the incident. This case is currently under investigation by the fire marshal.
