Maverick County Daily Reports-March 29, 2018

Possession of Marijuana-Misty May Hughes was taken into custody at the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning when she was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies on patrol this morning conducted a welfare check on a stationary Chevrolet Tahoe found parked on the side of Old Pioneer Road. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle and consent to search was given, which yielded the discovery of two baggies containing a known narcotic(cocaine). The driver, Angel Garcia, was placed under arrest. A male juvenile was also charged and the two were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing, where the juvenile was later released to his parents.

Public Intoxication-Units responded to the 1300 block of Erline after fielding calls of a disturbance in progress, whereupon arrival it was revealed a couple had engaged in a verbal argument. Contact was made with the subject, identified as Daniel Macias, who had not been welcomed at the location and was found in an intoxicated state. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

 Wanted Person-Joseph Cody Salas was taken into custody at a residence in Quemado, Texas this evening after a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest on a probation violation. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
