DWI/Possession of a Controlled Substance-A deputy on patrol came upon a single motor vehicle accident on the 1400 block of South Veterans Blvd. this morning. A 2011 Suburu driven by thirty one year-old Emilie Garza had veered off of the roadway, striking a wooden light post before entering into a ranch property. Ms. Garza displayed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest. Two small clear baggies containing a white substance were later found in her purse. She was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing and the vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service.
Deceased Person-Deputies early this afternoon escorted a vehicle out of Quemado, Texas to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER after a child was critically injured in an accident. The child would succumb to the injuries and be pronounced deceased at approximately 1:34 by Justice of the Peace Madera.
Wanted Person-Deputies arrested Samuel Vigil this evening after he was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Assault/Family Violence-Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on the 4200 block of Deer Run Blvd., where a female complainant reported she had been involved in a verbal argument with her boyfriend, who began to punch her. He would leave the scene prior to deputies arrival. A formal report was filed.
