Maverick County Daily Reports-April 15, 2018

Deceased Person-Units responded to the 3000 block of Alvin Circle early this morning in response to a male subject with a gunshot wound to his chest. Upon arrival at the scene, contact was made with a resident who stated he was in his bedroom when he heard a loud noise. He then found his father lying in bed with a wound to his chest. EMS crews arrived at the scene to transport the subject to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER where he would later be pronounced deceased by Justice if the Peace Castaneda.

Wanted Person-Monica Aracely Cruz was arrested this afternoon after City of Eagle Pass Police officers had detained her when a check revealed an open warrant out of the Maverick County sheriff's office. The warrant was confirmed and Ms. Cruz was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Information Report-Units responded to a call of two residences on fire by Yucca Loop and Commissary Road. Upon arrival, deputies observed the two homes engulfed in flames. Contact was made with the homeowners who were safely able to evacuate from both homes. Two residents were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. Arson investigators have taken over the case and the cause of the fire was unknown at the time of this report.

Public Intoxication-Deputies performing stonegarden operations this evening observed a suspicious vehicle parked on Pizarra Road. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle, Jose Coeto Roldan and Olga Diaz, who were found in a highly intoxicated state. They were taken into custody on public intoxication charges and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
