Maverick County Daily Reports-March 15, 2018

Motor Vehicle Accident-Units responded to the intersection of Rosita Valley Road and Wagon Wheel Road this morning after the driver of a 2007 Ford F-150 travelling northbound made a sudden wide turn, striking a 2012 Dodge Challenger. The collision left minor left side damages to both vehicles and the occupants refused medical attention at the time of the report. This case is under investigation.

Hit and Run-A resident on Sunset Loop reported an unknown vehicle had struck her maroon Ford F-150 on its left side before leaving the scene in an unknown direction.

Wanted Person-Maria Elena Rodriguez Ortega was taken into custody this afternoon when it was revealed she had an open warrant. She was escorted to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 02 oz.-Deputies patrolling Lety Street this afternoon observed a vehicle matching the description of a previously reported suspicious vehicle in the area. Contact was made with the occupants, identified as Anthony Marcus Oliver and Yostin Chicas, whose vehicle emitted a strong marijuana odor from the inside. Both subjects admitted to having marijuana in their possession and were placed under arrest before being transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Information Report-County Units were dispatched to the FM1021 and Rosita Valley Area this afternoon after being notified of a natural gas leak in the area. FM1021 was closed while a 1/2 mile radius evacuation of the area was conducted. Emergency crews and specialized personnel were at the scene to safely stop the leak and the fire department gave consent to deem the area as safe.

Burglary of Building/Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant on the 800 block Mikulisnki reported unknown subject(s) had entered a storage unit on his property and took several items without consent. The subjects would also take a car battery from one of the vehicles by his property.
