Maverick County Daily Reports-March 06, 2018

Wanted Person-Martin Lorenzo Sanchez was taken into custody at the international port of entry #2 this morning after being detained by agents at the port when a check revealed an open warrant out of Yoakam County. The warrant was confirmed as active and Mr. Sanchez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle/Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies were led on a brief pursuit through Loma Bonita this afternoon after the driver of a silver Toyota Tundra failed to yield to an attempted traffic stop for defective equipment. The Tundra accelerated through Eidson Road before making several turns in an attempt to avoid apprehension. It would eventually strike a fence line at Nick Carr Park and continue on to Escondido, where the driver stopped the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Deputies quickly apprehended the subject, identified as Alfredo Gutierrez Lopez and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle/Criminal Mischief/Terroristic Threats/Recovered Stolen Vehicle-A complainant on the 3000 block of Del Rio Blvd. reported this evening that a known male subject had broken the rear tail light to her vehicle and made threats towards her left, leaving her in fear of her safety. The known subject then took her 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt from the location without consent before later returning the vehicle. A formal report was filed.
