Maverick County Daily Reports-February 06, 2018

Information Report(Structural Fire)-Units responded to the 200 block of Las Moras Road, whereupon arrival observed a residence on fire. Contact was made with the homeowner, who stated he and his family had been woken by large amounts of smoke inside the home.  The occupants were able to exit the residence safely and were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. Fire Department crews were on location to safely extinguish the fire and arson investigators on hand attribute the fire to an electrical short in a window A/C unit.

Information Report(Motor Vehicle Accident)-Units arriving at the scene of a rollover accident on US Highway 131 this morning observed a tan 2001 F-350 truck with extensive damages and its male driver laying unresponsive on the ground. EMS crews were summoned to the location, where the male subject would be pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigations revealed the driver had been travelling southbound when it veered off the roadway, causing the truck to roll over several times. The Texas Department of Public Safety has since taken over investigations.

Aggravated Assault/Family Violence-A complainant on the 1000 block of Casales reported a known male subject pointed a firearm at her in the midst of an argument with the intention of causing harm. A reported was filed.
