Maverick County Daily Reports-February 15, 2018

Identity Theft-A male subject reported that it was discovered that three vehicles had been purchased under his name when he attempted to purchase a vehicle at a dealership. The complainant further stated he was unaware of the purchases and had not made them.

DWI-A deputy on patrol was advised by another deputy that she was almost struck by a vehicle this morning, prompting the unit to make a traffic stop at the intersection of FM1021 and South Veteran's Bvd. Contact was made with the driver, Ricardo Contreras, Jr., who displayed a slurred speech and an unknown alcoholic odor emitting from his person. The deputy also observed an infant in the backseat. Mr. Contreras agreed to perform a field sobriety test, in which he performed poorly. The mother of the infant arrived at the location and took custody of the child before Mr. Contreras was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
