Maverick County Daily Reports-October 1, 2017

Burglary of Vehicle/Criminal Attempt-Deputies responded to the 1700 block of Bianca Street to reports of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, a resident advised a male subject had left the area running after attempting to steal a lawnmower. The subject had also entered the resident's vehicle. A search of the area was conducted to no avail.

Burglary of Habitation-A complainant reported unknown actor(s) had gained entry to her residence and took several items without consent. The actors also caused damages to furniture inside the home. 

Motor Vehicle Accident-The occupants of a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe were taken to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for treatment this afternoon after the vehicle had struck a light pole off of FM1021.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested a subject identified as Andres Mendoza Ibarra at the port of entry this evening after CBP agents had detained him when a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant out of Karnes County was confirmed and Mendoza was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication-A unit responded to the US Border Patrol checkpoint on Highway 57 this evening, where agents reported a male subject at scene in need of medical assistance. Upon arrival, contact was made with Francisco Mijares, who was found with lacerations to the facial area. Mr. Mijares also displayed a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person, unstable balance, and bloodshot eyes. He was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment and later given a citation.
