Wanted Person-A traffic stop on US Highway 277 early this morning revealed the driver of the vehicle to have an active warrant. Twenty six year old Luis Escobedo was taken into custody after the warrant out of Maverick County was confirmed. Mr. Escobedo was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle-A County unit responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 North this morning after agents had detained a male subject in a possibly stolen vehicle. Contact was made with the subject, identified as Mark Anthony Cana, who was found driving a 2009 Mazda 3, which came back as reported stolen. Mr. Cana was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Theft-A complainant on the 1800 block of Bianca reported unknown subject(s) had entered his property without consent and took a weed eater and lawn mower from the bed of his pickup truck.
Possession of a Dangerous Drug/Possession of a Substance-Deputies patrolling Baltica Street this evening conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor infraction. Contact was made Jose Fermin Bueno Escamilla, the driver, who gave consent to search the vehicle. The search would yield the discovery of a green leafy substance, which was identified as synthetic marijuana, as well as four hydrocodone pills, in which Mr. Escamilla did not have a prescription for. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
