Maverick County Daily Reports-July 20, 2017

Public Intoxication-A deputy patrolling Eidson Road early this morning with a male subject found walking along the roadway. Ricardo Diaz, Jr. displayed signs of intoxication, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-A deputy made contact with a complainant this morning after the door frame to a business had been damaged by unknown subject(s).

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz./Possession of a Prohibited Weapon-Deputies patrolling on Stonegarden duty conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Expedition off of Vanesa Street this afternoon. Contact was made with Fernando Franco, the driver, who gave consent to search the vehicle. The search yielded the discovery of marijuana alongside a switchblade. Mr. Franco was then placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant on Vanesa Street reported unknown subject(s) had broken the window to her Dodge Ram and took a radio without consent.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested Rosa Maria Martinez this afternoon after a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and Ms. Martinez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Information Report-Units responded to US 277 by Quemado, Texas this afternoon after a tractor trailer caught fire. Contact was made with the driver, who stated the trailer box had suddenly caught fire. Eagle Pass Fire crews were at the location to extinguish the fire and the Texas Department of Public Safety and US Border Patrol were on hand to assist. The Texas Department of Public Safety has since taken over the investigation.

Credit Card Abuse-A complainant reported unknown subject(s) had used his debit card without consent. The card was cancelled, however, he wished to file a report.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident this afternoon after the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu lost control and struck a cement wall. EMS crews were summoned to the scene where they advised deputies the driver had fainted due to low sugar level. The driver refused further medical attention.
