Maverick County Daily Reports-July 19, 2017

Wanted Person-A deputy was in contact with City of Eagle Pass Police officers this morning after a male subject detained was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Maverick County. Carlos Gabino Rodriguez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle-A complainant travelling on Tierra Soberana on his Yamaha R6 reported he was intentionally struck by a white Toyota Corolla, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. He further reported the driver of the Corolla refused to stop and render aid and continued to follow him before losing visual of the vehicle.

Fraud-A complainant advised unknown subject(s) had been his personal checks without consent.

Theft/Criminal Mischief-A complainant reported via phone that unknown subject(s) had gained entry to his ranch by cutting a fence. He further advised two head of cattle had been taken from his ranch without consent.

Motor Vehicle Accident/DWI/Wanted Person-Units responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident on Wagon Wheel Road this evening, shortly after 11:30 PM. Upon arrival, deputies observed a 2001 Ford F-150 rolled over with no occupants.  Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a male subject exit the vehicle and walk away in an unknown location. A search of the area was conducted and the driver, identified as Jose Carlos Herrera, was found hiding in the brush. Mr. Herrera displayed a slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and an unknown alcoholic odor emitting from his person. A check also revealed an active warrant for his arrest on an outstanding warrant charge.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
