Maverick County Daily Reports-July 04, 2017

Wanted Person-A unit responded to the international port of entry #2 this morning after agents at the port detained a male subject with an active warrant. The warrant for David Moreno out of Hays County was confirmed and Mr. Moreno was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication-Deputies on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on FM1021 for an apparent traffic violation. Contact was made with a female, identified as Wendy Guerra, who had a strong alcoholic odor emitting from her person. Ms. Guerra was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-County units responded to a motor vehicle accident on FM 481 this evening, whereupon arrival, observed a Ford Expedition engulfed in flames and several bystanders assisting injured occupants at the scene. Eagle Pass Fire Department and EMS Crews, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Uvalde Fire Department, and Air-Evac were on hand to assist. Contact was made with the fifty-eight year old driver of the vehicle, who stated he had been travelling with six other family members, when his vehicle blew a tire, causing it to veer off the road and roll over several times. The driver and a thirty-year old female refused medical attention, however, four other females, aged fifty-four, fifteen, eight, and six were all transported to San Antonio, Texas via Air-Evac. A seventeen year old female was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. This case is currently under investigation.
