Maverick County Daily Reports-March 11, 2017

Hit and Run-A complainant traveling on FM2644 reported a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction side-swiped his vehicle and failed to stop. A report was filed.

Wanted Person-Deputies responded to the international port of entry #2 after CBP agents detained a female subject when a check revealed an open warrant. Elizabeth Lara de Chacon was placed under arrest after the warrant was confirmed. She would then be transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Driving while Intoxicated-Deputies on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Silverado by FM1021 this afternoon. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Sabino Vielma, who emitted a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person. A sobriety exam was conducted, where it was determined that Mr. Vielma performed poorly. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies arrested a female identified as Stacy Elizabeth Ogara after she was initially detained by Border Patrol agents at the Highway 57 checkpoint when she was found to be in possession of marijuana. Ms. Ogara was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle-A deputy attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a 2001 Mercedes-Benz this evening was led on a short pursuit when the driver refused to yield to officer requests. The pursuit, which began on Lago Vista Drive, ended when the subject bailed out on Peach Street and fled the scene on foot. Deputies were unable to locate the subject and the vehicle was towed to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office for further investigation.
