Maverick County Daily Reports-December 04, 2016

Hit and Run-A resident on Steven Drive reported an unknown vehicle had struck his 2016 Ford Mustang on the left front fender, damaging the hood.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle, Assault on a Public Servant, Interference with a Public Duties-A County unit patrolling the Pueblo Nuevo subdivision this afternoon attempted to conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 SUV who disregarded a stop sign. The driver, identified as Cesar Arturo Garcia, refused to stop while traveling at a high rate of speed on FM1021 before turning onto Frontier Road, where he lost control. The vehicle reversed in an attempt to elude deputies and struck the patrol unit before leaving the scene and entered a property on the 100 block of Chuck Wagon Road.

Mr. Garcia entered the residence and deputies were able to place him under arrest after a brief struggle. During the struggle, however, two individuals intervened with deputy attempts to arrest Mr. Garcia and physically assaulted a deputy. Olivia Gallegos Garcia and Juan Arturo Garcia were placed under arrest for assault on a public servant and interference with public duties. Cesar Arturo Garcia was placed under arrest for evading arrest with a motor vehicle, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle on a public servant, and resisting arrest. All three were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Rolando Salazar was taken into custody this afternoon, after a traffic stop revealed two active warrants out of Maverick County. Salazar was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
