Maverick County Daily Reports-November 06, 2016

Assault-Deputies responded to the 300 block of FM2030 after a complainant reported being assaulted by three known male subjects. EMS crews arrived at the scene and transported to the male subject to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER for further medical treatment.

Burglary of Vehicle-Deputies were on alert today after receiving numerous calls from residents on the 1700 block of Coyunda Street whose vehicles had been broken into. On three separate occasions, three vehicles had also been reported as stolen, two of which have been recovered in the same area since. The Maverick County Sheriff's Office reminds the residents of Maverick County to remain vigilant for any unusual behavior in the area.

Wanted Person-Scott Bateman was placed under arrest at the USBP checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning when a background check revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. The warrant was confirmed and Bateman was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Minor Motor Vehicle Accident-County units responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 277 North and Thompson Road this evening, where a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado collided into a 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle. Deputies at the scene were able to surmise that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling northbound on 277 when the Silverado turning left onto Thompson Road from 277 South disregarded the signal light and struck the front tire of the motorcycle. All occupants refused medical attention and the the driver was cited.

Wanted Person-Deputies made contact with City of Eagle Pass Police officers, who had detained a female subject with an active warrant out of Maverick County. The warrant for Erika Jasmine Herrera was confirmed and Ms. Herrera was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
