Maverick County Daily Reports-August 12, 2016

Wanted Person-Deputies responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57, where agents had detained a male subject with an active warrant. Jose Montalvo, Jr. was placed under arrest after the warrant on failure to appear charges was confirmed. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Disorderly Conduct-Deputies were dispatched to the 1700 block of Bianca Street this morning after a complainant reported a disturbance in progress. The male subject in question, identified as Martin De Leon, had been directing profanities at him and the rest of his family. He had also been banging on the walls and windows to the residence. Mr. De Leon was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant on the 2000 block of Las Quintas reported unknown subjects(s) broke into his toolbox and took several items without his consent.

Wanted Persons-Deputies arrested Robbie Frank Vargas out of Del Rio, Texas at the international port of entry #2 after a check revealed an outstanding warrant out of the U.S. Marshals Office.

Dog Bite-A ten year old boy suffered a large dog bite under his eye by a dog that appeared on a property off of Old Pioneer Road. Vector control was called to the scene and the dog was removed from the property.

Assault/Family Violence-Deputies responded to a family violence call on the 1700 block of Barbara Street this afternoon. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female subject identified as Daisy Ortiz, who stated she had been involved in a physical altercation with her common-law husband, Felix Lopez. Mr. Lopez told deputies that he had been assaulted by his wife. After further investigation, both parties were taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
