Maverick County Daily Reports-June 05, 2016

Assault/Family Violence-A resident on Valarie Street reported she had been physically assaulted by her husband. The male subject, however, had left the area, prior to a unit's arrival.

Theft-Deputies responded to the Stripes convenience store on FM1021 this morning, where a cashier reported an unknown male subject had left the store with two 18-packs of beer without purchasing them.

Burglary of Habitation-A complainant on the 2700 block of Rodriguez Street reported unknown subject(s) had taken an American Bull dog worth $2,000.00 from her residence without her consent.

Theft-A resident on the 3200 block of Ella reported a known male subject had taken a flat screen television from her residence without her consent.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies responded to the intersection of Rosita Valley Road and Charro Road, where a Dodge pickup was found inside of a ditch. The vehicle was found unoccupied at the time of arrival.

Assault/Family Violence-Deputies were dispatched to FM1021, where a female subject reported she had been involved in a physical altercation with her husband, identified as Ruben Leija. Mr. Leija was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person/Possession of a Controlled Substance/Possession of a Dangerous Drug-This afternoon, a deputy conducted a background check on a female subject that had an active warrant out of Maverick County. A search of the the female's personal belongings revealed a black in color paste substance wrapped in a plastic baggie and several needles located inside a sock. Additionally several prescription medications were located inside a small container. The black substance later tested positive for .6 grams of heroin. Wendy Guerra was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A deputy responded to the United States Border Patrol south station after agents had detained a male subject with an open warrant. The warrant on Baudelio Herrera was confirmed and he was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
