Maverick County Daily Reports-April 25, 2016

Criminal Mischief-A deputy responded to the 3800 block of Doe Lane, where a complainant reported an unknown male had broken her vehicle's passenger side windows.

Burglary of Habitation-A complainant reported to Sheriff's Deputies that unknown subject(s) entered her residence without her consent and took a television set and gaming console. The complainant was referred to the Criminal Investigations Division for further process.

Burglary-A resident on the 2600 block of Becos stated unknown subjects entered her 2013 Ford F-150 and took several items without consent.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to the intersection of FM2030 and FM1021 this evening after fielding calls of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies observed a Dodge Avenger with minor damages to its front end and a Buick SUV with damages sustained to its left rear quarter panel. Contact was made with the parties involved and the driver of the Bucik stated she was turning left onto FM2030 from FM1021 when the Avenger back to exit FM2030 onto FM1021 when it struck the SUV on its side. EMS crews were at the scene, however, all occupants refused medical attention at the time of the report.

Recovered Narcotics-Deputies responded to the 2800 block of Rosita Valley Road, where a complainant reported  unknown subjects had left a clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance behind. A test was conducted and the substance tested positive for marijuana. It was recovered and taken back to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office and placed in the evidence locker.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle/Resisting Arrest or Detention-Thirty-nine year old John Lee Chancey was placed under arrest this evening after evading deputies attempting to make a stop for a traffic violation. At approximately 7:39 PM, a chase ensued when the Chevrolet S-10 failed to stop on FM1021 before finally coming to a stop on the 800 block of Escondido. Chancey, who initially resisted arrest, was finally placed in hand restraints and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. EMS crews arrived at the scene for medical treatment of the occupants of the vehicle but services were refused.
