Maverick County Daily Reports-March 16, 2015

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies responded to an area just passed the feedlot located on FM102, where a driver of a 2003 Volkswagen was involved in a rollover accident. Upon arrival, contact was made with Manuel Tijerina, who had already exited the vehicle. Mr. Tijerina stated he was traveling eastbound on FM1021 when the vehicle came off of the roadway. In an attempt to veer back on, he over corrected, causing him to rollover and strike a light pole. Mr. Tijerina was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for evaluation and the vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service.

Motor Vehicle Accident-A Kia Sportage revising out of a private driveway on Vanessa Street collided into a 2015 Chrysler 300. Both parties refused medical attention at the scene.

Public Intoxication-Deputies arrested Arturo Alonzo Garza on Eidson Street this morning after it was revealed that Mr. Garza was intoxicated. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to Us Highway 277 East by mile marker 620 this afternoon, where a 2006 Ford Explorer was involved in a single motor vehicle accident. The driver, thirty-nine year old Catalina Galindo, sustained visible injuries and was air-lifted from the scene for further medical treatment.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to FM1021 by Old Pioneer Road, where contact was made with the driver of a pickup involved in a single motor vehicle accident. The driver stated he began having problems with his brakes, causing him to strike a barbed-wire fence located on FM1021. No injuries were reported at the scene.

DWLI-A deputy at the Maverick County lake conducted a traffic stop for a minor traffic infraction. A check of the Jorge Alberto Amezcua, the driver of the vehicle, revealed that he was operating the vehicle with an invalid license. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
