Maverick County Daily Reports-March 14, 2016

Resisting Arrest or Detention-Deputies responded to an address on Progresso Street after receiving a call of an unwanted subject by the location. Upon arrival, a male subject was found sleeping inside a small vehicle in the backyard of a residence. Contact was made with Jose Hernandez, Jr., who became verbally aggressive. Necessary force was used to take Hernandez into custody after he failed to respond to officer requests and orders. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana-Deputies arrested thirty-one year old Dayston Montano at the international Port of Entry #2 after he was found to be in possession of approximately 1.62 ounces of marijuana. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Dustin Burke Steven was arrested after an active warrant for his arrest was revealed. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-a traffic stop on a 2003 BMW yielded the discovery of a glass smoking pipe underneath the passenger side car seat. The driver was issued a citation and released.

Wanted Person-A deputy made contact with a male subject later identified as Eduardo Navarrete who had an active warrant out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. Navarrete was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle-A deputy attempting to make a traffic stop on a 2005 Ford Excursion was led on a pursuit when the driver failed to stop. The Texas Department of Public Safety assisted by laying out spikes that helped disable the vehicle. The driver, later identified as a male juvenile, evaded on foot before being apprehended by city of Eagle Pass Police Department officers. He was later transported to the Juvenile Detention Facility.
