Maverick County Daily Reports-January 29, 2016

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to the intersection of FM1021 and Loop 480 this morning after a pickup truck collided into a Eagle Pass ISD school bus. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed the school bus had sustained damages to its left side and the pickup with front end damages. Contact was made with the driver of the pickup, who stated she was looking to turn left onto Loop 480 and did not notice the school bus, striking it upon its left side. The occupants of both vehicles involved in the accident all refused medical attention. The Texas Department of Public Safety was present at the scene and has taken over the investigation.

Wanted Person-A background check on a female subject revealed an active warrant. Deputies arrested Yesenia Campos on the open warrant and transferred her to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant on the 300 block of Nogal Street reported an unknown subject had gained entry into his vehicle without his consent.

Driving while Intoxicated-A traffic stop conducted on a vehicle disregarding a stop sign on Memo Robinson Road revealed the driver to be in an intoxicated state. Deputies made contact with Leroy Cantu, who was found to have an alcoholic odor emitting from his person. It was later determined that Mr. Cantu was under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
