Maverick County Daily Reports-February 03, 2016

Driving while Intoxicated/Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle-At approximately 3:00 AM this morning, a deputy patrolling Coyunda Street observed a 1994 Ford Mustang disregard a stop sign and attempted to conduct a traffic stop for the infraction. The driver of the vehicle began to evade the attempt and a small pursuit ensued for several blocks before the vehicle came to a stop on the 1700 block of Coyunda. Deputies made contact with Jose Arturo Hernandez, who was found to have a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person, unstable balance, and a slurred speech. Mr. Hernandez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Dangerous Drugs-Deputies responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 after agents advised that a secondary inspection on a 2014 Nissan Versa yielded the discovery of several dangerous drugs. Found in the vehicle were liquids that later tested positive for 1 vial of morphine, 2 vials of Ketorolac, 1 bottle of synthetic urine, and a bottle of Promenthazine. Agents also found a smoking pipe. Paul John Overton was then placed under arrest by deputies and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Building-A deputy responded to the 400 block of Las Brisas, where a complainant reported unknown subject(s) had taken several items from her property without her consent.

Wanted Person-A TCIC/NCIC check on a male subject stopped for a traffic infraction in Quemado, Texas revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County this afternoon. Juan Perez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Family Violence/Assault-A complainant on FM2030 reported her husband had shown up at her workplace and began to berate her and shove her, and at one point, slapped the phone away from her ear.

Terroristic Threats-A complainant on Buck Drive stated a known male subject had threatened to cause physical harm to him.
