Maverick County Daily Reports-February 17, 2016

Driving While Intoxicated-A deputy patrolling FM 1021 conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Chevrolet for a minor traffic infraction early this morning. Contact was made with Irvin Maximilliano Garza, the driver of the vehicle, who had a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. Mr. Garza complied with a field sobriety test after showing signs on unstable balance, bloodshot eyes, and a slurred speech. It was later determined that Mr. Garza was indeed intoxicated and was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Vehicle/Criminal Mischief-a reporting person on Calle Nicolas stated unknown subject(s) entered his tractor trailer and took his stereo without consent. The reporting person also reported the right side of his trailer being vandalized with graffiti.

Burglary of Vehicle-Two complainants on Calle Nicolas reported unknown subject(s) had entered their vehicles and took items without their consent.

Theft-A unit responded to the 100 block of Alamo Street after it was reported unknown actor(s) had taken several items from the bed of a pickup truck.

Theft-A complainant on Tesoro Loop stated unknown actor(s) took several items from the front porch of his residence without his consent.

Recovered Stolen Property-A complainant reported being allowed to enter a residence to search for stolen property, where several items were located. The items were recovered and transported to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office and processed as recovered stolen property.

Motor Vehicle Accident-The driver of a 2015 Hyundai CP was involved in a single motor vehicle accident this evening. Nineteen year old Christian Avila was traveling eastbound on Us Highway 277 East this evening when he lost control of the vehicle after it veered to the right. The vehicle crossed all lanes of traveling before rolling over onto its roof top. EMS crews were at the scene and Mr. Avila was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
