Maverick County Daily Reports-January 17, 2016

Public Intoxication-A deputy patrolling South Veteran's Blvd. conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Chrysler after observing it parked at a green light for several minutes. Contact was made with the driver, identifed as Jorge Miranda, who displayed bloodshot eyes and a slurred speech. He was also found to have unstable balance and an alcoholic odor emitting from his person. Mr. Miranda was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-Deputies responded to the 800 block of Wagon Wheel, where a resident reported unknown subjects slashed his the tires to his Dodge Avenger and scratched a second vehicle with an unknown object.

Wanted Person-Deputies responded to the United States Border Patrol south station, where agents detained a male subject with an active warrant. The warrant on Armando De Leon was confirmed and De Leon was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant arrived at the Maverick County Sheriff's Office to report unknown subject(s) had entered his property and took a goat valued at approximately $300.00 without his consent.

Wanted Person-Deputies responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 after agents detained a male subject with an active warrant out of Bexar County. Deputies confirmed the warrant on Alberto Hernandez. Hernandez was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to the intersection El Indio Highway and Rosita Valley Road where a 2011 Jeep  traveling south on El Indio Highway was struck on the right front quarter panel by a 2014 Dodge Ram who hadn't seen the Jeep when turning onto the Highway from Rosita Valley Road. The occupants of both vehicles were then transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for further treatment.
