Maverick County Daily Reports-January 02, 2016

Evading Arrest/Resisting Arrest/DWI-Deputies patrolling the southern sector of Maverick County attempted to conducting a traffic stop on a 2009 Chrysler Sebring  for a speeding infraction. Emergency lights were activated on the county unit, however, the driver identified as twenty-five year old Cesar Sanchez, Jr., refused to stop, ensuing a short pursuit. The vehicle came to a stop by the 100 block of Wild Turkey, where Sanchez exited the vehicle. Mr. Sanchez displayed signs of intoxication and upon attempts to be placed in hand restraints, began a struggle with deputies. He would eventually be placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to the intersection of Linares and Eidson Road, where a 2005 Ford Focus disregarded a stop sign and struck a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe. The passenger of the Tahoe was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center emergency room after complaining of neck and back pain.

Theft-A county unit was dispatched to the 900 block of Progresso, where a male complainant stated unknown subject(s) had entered his property and taken an blue miller welding machine from his back yard without his consent. The complainant further advised the value of the missing property was approximately $5,500.00

Missing Person/Located Missing Person-A complainant reported receiving a phone call from an unknown male advising that if he wanted to see his wife, he would have to pay what was owed. Complainant further stated he had not seen or heard from his wife since around 6:30 PM on January 1st. At approximately 11:22 AM, deputies were dispatched to the home once again, where they met with the missing person who reported not remembering much other than waking up in her vehicle at the EZ Pawn located on El Indio Highway.

Hit and Run-A complainant on the 1600 block of Encuentro reported an unknown vehicle had struck his 2012 Ford Focus parked in front of his residence.

Family Violence/Assault/Recovered Narcotics-Deputies responded to the 700 block of Lago Vista, where upon arrival, made contact with a female who stated she was assaulted in the facial area by her husband. Contact was made with the husband in question, who stated he was also assaulted. Both parties were taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. A further investigation of the scene yielded the discovery of a small amount of  green leafy substance which revealed to be marijuana.

Wanted Person-CBP agents a male subject identified as Jose Vara Munoz after a background check revealed an active warrant out of Victory, Texas. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Munoz was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
