Maverick County Daily Reports-December 21, 2015

Motor Vehicle Accident-A county unit responded to US Highway 277 East this morning, where a 2011 GMC terrain was involved in a motor vehicle accident with an animal. The driver of the Terrain told deputies a deer suddenly crossed his path on the highway and he was unable to avoid striking the deer. The collision caused damages to the front end of the vehicle. No injuries were reported at the time of the report.

Wanted Person-A deputy was dispatched to Rosita Valley Road after being contacted by Tribal Police in reference to a vehicle occupied by several intoxicated subjects. Upon arrival and identification of occupants, the deputy arrested a female subject identified as Yessenia Rodriguez after a background check yielded an active warrant out of Johnson County. Ms. Rodriguez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Burglary of Habitation, Motor Vehicle Accident, Wanted Person-Deputies responded to a burglary of habitation in progress on Imelda Street this morning. Dispatchers advised county units that subjects were traveling in a black vehicle. Deputies were able to make a visual on the vehicle, which refused to stop and a pursuit ensued on Del Rio Blvd., crossing into city limits, where it lost control on Bonnet Street and turned over. Arrested were Gerardo Tambunga and Jose Rodriguez. Both subjects were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing, where it was revealed that Mr. Tambunga also had an active warrant for a parole violation.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies were dispatched to FM1021 after a 2009 Dodge Ram traveling westbound was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado exiting Family Dollar/ The driver of the Dodge Ram was taken to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment.

Fraud-A complainant on the 1000 block of Progresso advised deputies he had received a phone call from Florida advising he had won a college scholarship. He then sent $1,000.00 and later found out that the company was a false company.

Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant on Alazan Drive reported unknown subject(s) had broken into his vehicle and stole several items.

Family Violence/Assault-Deputies arrested Roberto Albizo Luna this evening after it was revealed that he assaulted his wife by slapping her in the facial area several times. Mr. Luna also broke one of the doors inside the residence. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication-Deputies patrolling Potro Drive this evening arrested fifty-three Alonzo Garza after he was found asleep in the middle of the roadway. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
