Maverick County Daily Reports-November 13, 2015

Family Violence/Assault by Strangulation-Deputies responded to the 4100 block of Black Tail this morning, where a female complainant had reported that she was involved in a physical altercation with her husband. She further stated that in the midst of the altercation, her husband began to choke her.

Burglary of Vehicle/Hit and Run-A deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Canal Drive, where a complainant reported unknown subject(s) had crashed into her vehicle and broken into it during the overnight hours. The subjects made off with a black iPad that was left inside the vehicle.

Identity Theft-A complainant on the 200 block of Sun Valley Trail reported that while applying for a job, a background check revealed a criminal history. The complainant filed a report stating someone may possibly be using her social security number.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Highway 131 this afternoon, shortly after the 3 PM hour. Upon arrival, officers observed a 2004 GMC van rolled over on its side. The  driver of the van, traveling southbound, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off. Forty-four year old David Lee Cardona and Erik Herrera were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. The Texas Department of Public Safety was on hand and has since taken over the investigation.

Wanted Person-A county unit responded to the international Port of Entry after CBP agents detained a female subject attempting to enter the United States after it was revealed she had an active warrant. A deputy confirmed the open warrant for Irma Linda Morales, who was wanted out of Zavala County. Ms. Morales was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.  

Disorderly Conduct-Deputies responded to the 1700 block of Ginebra, where a complainant reported that her husband and son had been involved in an argument that turned into a minor physical altercation. Cesar Baltazar and Juan R. Baltazar were taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
