Maverick County Daily Reports-November 14, 2015

Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle-Deputies were dispatched to Rosita Valley Road this morning, where a complainant stated that while traveling on Winchester Road, she noticed a 2000 Chevrolet Van parked in the middle of the Road. The driver further stated she honked her horn in an attempt to get the van to move. She went on to say that the van began to follow the complainant's vehicle and and struck her from behind several times. The van then left the location and parked the vehicle behind a residence on Arce Lane. Officers made contact with the homeowners, who stated the vehicle was not theirs. The van was then towed to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office.

Deceased Person-An officer responded to the 2500 block of Rosita Valley Road, where a seventy-two year old male was found deceased by his hospice nurse. The nurse advised that the male subject had suffered from lung cancer. A local funeral home was on hand to take possession of the body.

Possession of Marijuna-Thirty eight year old Ryan Matthew Janeiro was placed under arrest this afternoon after it was revealed that he was in possession of a clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana while attempting to cross the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57. Janeiro was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Motor Vehicle Accident-The driver of a 2006 Nissan Altima collided into a 2013 Ford Taurus By Academy Road this afternoon while reversing from an empty lot. Both parties involved refused medical attention.
