Maverick County Daily Reports-October 20, 2015

Criminal Mischief-A complainant on Nava Street reported an unknown subject(s) had broken the windshield to his black Ford F-150 with an unknown object.

Theft under $50.00-Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white Dodge Avenger this morning, after a bolo had been placed on a vehicle matching the description for being involved in a convenience store theft. Contact was made with thirty-three year old Juan Mata, the driver of the vehicle, who had taken a six pack of beer from the store without paying. Mr. Mata was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Minor Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to the intersection of Garrison Street and Colorado Street this afternoon after a City of Eagle Pass Police Department unit was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident. The unit, which was in route to attending an emergency call, struck the back left bumper of a 2005 white Cadillac making a left turn onto Colorado Street. Damages to both vehicles were minimal and both parties refused medical attention.

Minor Motor Vehicle Accident-Units were dispatched to Las Quintas Park where a complainant reported a minor motor vehicle accident on FM 1021. The driver, attempting to make a right turn onto FM 1021, brushed the left panel of a vehicle also looking to make a right turn, with his right tire. Both parties refused medical attention.


Burglary of Habitation-a complainant on the 2900 block of Encinal stated that unknown subject(s) had entered his residence without consent and took several items.

Assault-County units made their way to the 1500 block of Valarie Street after receiving calls of an assault in progress. Officers made contact with the complainant, who stated five known male subjects had arrived at his residence and assaulted him, striking him several times in the facial and head area with a traffic cone. EMS crews transported the subject to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment. Three other subjects at the location reported being assault while trying to intervene.  Deputies later arrested Ivan Gerardo Lopez, Juan Daniel Zamarripa, and Juan Humberto Fernandez near Frances Gates Loop. The three were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
