Maverick County Daily Reports-September 11, 2015

DWI, Evading Arrest or detention with a Motor Vehicle-A deputy patrolling FM 1021 attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white 1994 Infiniti G20 this morning. At approximately 2:05 AM, the county unit activated its emergency lights and the vehicle came to a complete stop near the intersection of FM 1021 and Loop 480. Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver, fifty-three year old Juan Herrada Sanchez, placed the vehicle in drive and sped off, traveling eastbound on FM 1021 before turning onto FM 2030. The Infiniti continued onto Pueblo Nuevo Drive and came to a complete stop at the intersection with Wild Wood, where Sanchez exited the vehicle, fleeing on foot. Deputies were able to apprehend Sanchez near Casino Grocery. Mr. Sanchez was found to have a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person. He was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center, where he refused to give a breath specimen as well as a field sobriety test.

Lost License Plate-A male complainant reported to deputies that a unknown subject had taken the license plate from his 2001 GMC Yukon and his utility trailer.

Family Violence/Assault-A deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff's Lobby, where a male complainant reported he had been carrying his crying child when his wife became upset and started striking him.

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon-Deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Christian Street after a woman reported being attacked by her son with a knife while she was parking in her driveway. The complainant refused to exit the vehicle until county units arrived and arrested the subject, Julio Martinez. Martinez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A deputy was dispatched to the international Port of Entry #2, after detaining an individual whose background check revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. Honario Rafael Rodriguez was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
