Maverick County Daily Reports-August 29, 2015

Drag Racing, Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-At approximately 1:42 AM this morning, deputies patrolling the Deer Run sector of Maverick County witnessed two vehicles racing on US Highway 277 North. A traffic stop was conducted on a 2004 grey Pontiac GTO and a red Chevrolet pickup truck. The drivers, identified as Francisco Mendoza and Humberto Castillo, were arrested for racing on the highway. Further investigation of one of the vehicles revealed that a passenger, identified as Divad Ramos, was in possession of a clear plastic bag containing what appeared to be marijuana. Mr. Ramos was placed under arrest and all three subjects were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault-Deputies responded to an assault call, where a complainant stated that two male actors, Ricardo Hernandez and Jesus Jaramillo, had arrived at his residence and began to strike him in the facial area for unknown reasons. Both male subjects were arrested for assault and were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A deputy was dispatched to the international Port of Entry #2 after a female subject attempting to enter the United States was detained for having an open warrant. Celeste Desiree Ortiz was arrested after it was confirmed she had an outstanding warrant out of Travis County on theft charges. She was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Building-Deputies made their way to the 1st block of Potro Street in reference to a burglary of building. Contact was made with the complainant, who stated unknown subject(s) had broken into his business and took several phones, laptops, and other accessories from the business.

Wanted Person-A male subject was detained at the international Port of Entry #1 after a background check revealed an open warrant. Deputies arrested Leopoldo Villanueva after confirming an active warrant out of Bexar County. Customs agents also found Mr. Villanueva to be in possession of a controlled substance at the time he was detained.  He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Lost Items-A county unit was dispatched to County Road 253, where a complainant advised that her black wallet, which housed several credit cards and her drivers license, had gone missing from her vehicle after going shopping.

Burglary of Building-A resident on Sun Down Drive reported unknown person(s) had gained entry into her residence and stole several items.

Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle-A complainant on Eidson Road told deputies an unknown person had taken is 2015 silver Chevrolet Silverado without his consent. Complainant also told deputies that the vehicle was left unsecured and the keys were under the driver's side floor mat.

Evading Arrest/Interfering with Public Duties-Deputies responded to Peach Street in reference to an unwanted male subject by the area. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the subject, identified as Anthony Longo. Mr. Longo briefly fled on foot before being detained, but resisted when being taken into custody. Arrested alongside Mr. Longo was Loami Guerrero, who attempted to keep deputies from arresting Mr. Longo. Both subjects were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
