Maverick County Daily Reports-August 25, 2015

Theft of Livestock-A complainant stated that unknown subject(s) had taken a goat without his consent.

Terroristic Threats-A complainant reported that a known male subject had threatened to cause her harm.

Recovered Narcotics-Deputies were dispatched to an empty lot near Boulder Ridge in Loma Bonita this afternoon, where a concerned citizen had spotted suspicious packages. Upon arrival, deputies recovered five wrapped bundles found on the lot, which upon further investigation, were revealed to be filled with marijuana. The bundles were transported to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office, where the approximate weight was measured at fifty-six pounds.

Family Violence/Assault, Resisting Arrest-County units responded to FM 1021 after receiving reports of a fight in progress. Deputies arrived at the scene to notice the female homeowner, identifed as Tanya Chavez, with injuries to her face and her arms. Ms. Chavez told deputies her sister in law, San Juanita Hernandez, had assaulted her by punching her and scratching her. Ms. Hernandez resisted arrested when officers attempted to place her in hand restraints. She was eventually placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Habitation-Criminal Attempt-a complainant on Vanessa Street reported to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office  that an unknown person had attempted to enter his residence by kicking in the front door.
