Maverick County Daily Reports-July 26, 2015

Possession of Marijuana under 2 Oz. -Deputies patrolling Maverick County Lake noticed a suspicious vehicle behind the Sears Department Store parking lot this morning. After further investigation, a male occupant identified as Jesus Amaya was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested Jose Luis Martinez at the international Port of Entry #2 after a TCIC/NCIC database check revealed an active warrant out of the McAllen Police Department. Mr. Martinez was then  transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-A complaint on the 3000 block of Fresno Loop stated that an unknown female subject entered her property and broke the water pipe minutes prior to a deputy's arrival.

Burglary of Habitation-A Female complainant on Marco Drive reported a known male subject attempted to gain unlawful entry into her residence.

Credit Card Abuse-A male subject told deputies that unknown person(s) had been making credit card transactions without his consent.

Assault/Assault with a Motor Vehicle Criminal Attempt-A complainant on Old Pioneer Road stated that a known female attempted to strike her with a vehicle. The complainant further stated that the known female assaulted her.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 Oz.-While patrolling the Siesta Acres area, deputies noticed an unoccupied red pickup truck with its windows rolled down by Valarie Park. Upon further investigation, deputies made contact with a male juvenile who stated the vehicle belonged to him. A search of the area was conducted and a clear plastic zip lock bag containing marijuana was found. The male juvenile was detained and transported to the Sheriff's Office for processing. 

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies responded to Kypuros Road in Hopedale, where a forty-eight year old male stated he miscalculated the curve and struck a posted speed limit sign. No injuries occurred and the 2008 Dodge vehicle was impounded due to damages.
