Maverick County Daily Reports-July 12, 2015

DWI-County units patrolling South Veteran's Boulevard observed a vehicle driving in the center turning lane this morning. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Becky Lee Mendoza, was unable to perform the FSFT. She was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Units were dispatched to the intersection of FM1021 and FM2030, where a male complainant told deputies a horse had run across the highway when he struck the horse. Minutes Later a second and third vehicle also struck the horse. All drivers involved in the accident refused medical attention.


Wanted Person-Units responded to the 2600 block of Commissary Road, where a male subject was reportedly suicidal. Upon arrival, deputies did observe the male to have three small puncture wounds in the abdomen area. Further investigation led to the discovery that the male subject had an open warrant in Maverick County on Possession of Marijuana charges. Juan Flores was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to calls of a motor vehicle accident this afternoon, at approximately 2:45 PM. Units arrived to the location by Del Rio Blvd. and Dr. Gates Drive and spoke with Norma Leticia Tobias, who stated that she had not seen a border patrol unit when she accidentally side swiped the unit.

Public Information Report-United States Border Patrol contacted the Sheriff's Office this evening when a traffic stop they conducted on FM 2644 resulted in the male driver having no license. The driver was cited by deputies and the vehicle was impounded by a local wrecker service.

Public Intoxication-A complainant on the 800 block of Vanessa Street contacted the sheriff's office when a known male subject was not welcome by his residence. Deputies arrived at the scene and made contact with the known male, who had a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person. James Chancey was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
