Maverick County Daily Reports-June 30, 2015

Deceased Person-Deputies responded to FM 2030 in Chula Vista at approximately 5:51 AM this morning in reference to a welfare check after a complainant stated that her twenty-five year old son, identified as Ernesto Luna, had left the residence walking in an unknown direction. Units arrived and made contact with the mother, who told officers her son has had suicidal tendencies in the past. Deputies conducted a perimeter check of the property and found the 25 year-old Luna hanging from a tree in the backyard. Deputies were able to cut the male down and performed CPR while EMS Crews were in route. Mr. Luna was then transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center, where he would be pronounced deceased.

Burglary of Vehicle-A female told deputies that in the early morning hours, she noticed unknown subject(s) gain entry to both of her vehicles and took the GPS navigation systems installed. The incident occurred on the 1200 block of Aurelia Street. 

Wanted Person-A male indvidual, later identified as Juan Diaz, arrived at the Sheriff's Office to turn himself on an active warrant. Mr. Diaz was wanted out of Austin, Texas by the Pardon and Parole Board on a parole violation.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of North Street and U.S. Highway 277 North in regards to a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, units made contact with the driver of a green Dodge Charger with sustained injuries to its quarter back panel. The driver of the vehicle deputies the other vehicle involved in the accident had left the scene. She refused medical attention at the time of the report.

Possession of a Dangerous Drug-A male attempting to enter the United States via international  Port of Entry #1 was sent to secondary inspection, where a pat down was conducted on the individual. Upon further investigation, approximately 47 Xanax pills were found in the possession of Jose Juan Lopez. Deputies arrived at the scene to arrest Mr. Lopez and transport him to the Tom Bowles Detention center for processing.

Civil Matter-A complainant told a deputy the he had sold his vehicle to a known subject who had not paid the full amount at the time of purchase. The complainant further stated the male subject had yet to pay the amount owed.

Information Report-A complainant arrived to her residence on the 3800 block of Iris Street to find several items missing from her residence. The complainant stated that her family members had taken the items and she no longer wanted them on her property.
