Maverick County Daily Reports-June 21, 2015

Public Intoxication- A deputy was dispatched to the international Port of Entry #2 in reference to an intoxicated individual. The male subject, identified as Ramon Salinas, showed signs of intoxication and was arrested on public intoxication charges.

Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle- A deputy responded to the 2000 block of Boulder Ridge after a male subject  stated that his black 1991 Chevrolet Blazer was taken without his consent. The vehicle was entered into the TCIC/NCIC database.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black 2002 Ford Explorer in the Las Quintas Sector of Maverick County. Further investigation of the vehicle led to the discovery of a small bag containing a white powdery substance next to the driver. The driver, identified as Nicolas Valles, Jr., was arrested.

Failure to Identify/Public Intoxication-Deputies arrived at the Shell Station off of Hopedale Road and Highway 277 after two male subjects attempted to steal beer before being stopped by employees. A male subject showed signs of intoxication. Deputies were given several names and dates of birth but the male refused to disclose his name. He was arrested.

Public Intoxication-A deputy noticed a black 2008 Ford parked in the middle of the roadway with a male subject asleep on the drivers side. The male showed signs of intoxication and was arrested.

Wanted Person-A TCIC/NCIC check conducted on a male attempting to enter the United States via Port of Entry #1 came back with an active warrant out of Maverick County. The individual was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident at the 2600 block of Highway 277 North. At approximately 10:24 AM, units arrived to the scene to observe a 2014 white Nissan with rear damages. The second vehicle involved, a 2003 black Ford F-150 sustained front end damages. Both parties refused medical attention at the time of the report.

Burglary of Building-Unknown subjects entered a store room on the 1300 block of Rosita Valley Road and took an air compressor.

Family Violence/Simple Assault-Deputies responded to the 100 block of Costa Rica, when a male subject advised he had a verbal argument with his son for unknown reasons. Male subject was placed under arrest and cited for family violence/simple assualt.

Wanted Person-A TCIC/NCIC check was conducted on a male subject, who came back with an active warrant out of Val Verde County. The male was arrested and tranpsorted to the Tom Bowles Detention Center.

Public Intoxication-Tribal Police Department were involved in a motor vehicle pursuit that ended at 1590 Rosita Valley Road. The driver and passenger were both apprehended. After further investigation, it was revealed that the driver was intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center. The male passenger wad an undocumented citizen and custody was turned over to the United States Border Patrol.

Reckless Driving-Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Mustang driving recklessly by North Veteran's Blvd. and Romel Street. The driver, identified as Abraham Lee Fuentes, was placed under arrest on reckless driving charges.

Information Report-County units made their way to Eidson Rd. in reference to a possible disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that he was seeking medical attention for his daughter, who was suffering from heroin addiction. An ambulance was on scene to transport the female to the hospital for further evaluation.

Information Report-Deputy patrolling south Veteran's Blvd. made contact with a male subject by Memorial Junior High School. Further investigation revealed that the male was an undocumented citizen who was lost. The US Border Patrol was summoned to the location where they took over custody of the male.
