Maverick County Daily Reports-June 17, 2015

Motor Vehicle Accident/Public Intoxication-Deputies were dispatched to FM 480 in reference to a motor vehicle accident at approximately 12:30 AM this morning. Brien De Hoyos, the driver of a vehicle told deputies he had fallen asleep at the wheel when he struck a second vehicle. Both drivers refused medical attention at the time of the report and Mr. De Hoyos was placed under arrest for public intoxication.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to a possible rollover on 277 East by the Maverick County Line. Upon arrival, officers noticed a tractor trailer had jack knifed off of the roadway. The Texas Department of Public Safety was on the scene and took over the investigation.

Wanted Person-A male subject who had an open warrant for terroristic threats arrived at the Maverick County Sheriff's Office to turn himself in.

Aggravated Assault-A female subject wished to file an aggravated report. The female stated that while at Potro Park, her ex-boyfriend arrived and began hitting the driver side window of her vehicle. The ex-boyfriend began yelling at her, though she could not remember what was being said as she feared for safety. The male subject was holding a knife and the complainant fled the area after he punctured the front left tire of her vehicle.

Harassment-A male subject wished to file a report because he feels he is being harassed by several male individuals.

Resisting Arrest-Deputies were dispatched to Fresno Loop in reference to a disturbance in the middle of the street. Upon arrival, officers attempted to speak to a belligerent female, who refused to comply with officer requests. The female was placed under arrest.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle-Deputies responded to Eidson Road after a female filed a report stating that unknown subject(s) had taken her 2001 white Chevrolet Suburban without her effective consent in the early morning hours of June 16, 2015.

Information Report-A complainant requested to file a report after a male subject threw an unknown object at her vehicle. The vehicle was not struck by the object.


Damage to Property A deputy was dispatched tto the 10000 block of US Highway 277 in reference to property damage. Deputies spoke with the driver of an 18 wheeler, who stated that the rear tire from the flat bed come off while traveling south on 277 and struck an empty building, causing minor damages.

Theft-A complainant on Chuckwagon Road told deputies she noticed a set of wheels were missing from her front lawn when she arrived at her residence.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle-A chase ensued when a black F-250 failed to yield to a traffic stop attempt on FM 1021near the Pueblo Nuevo Subdivision. The 250 drove into Pueblo Nuevo attempting to evade deputies. The vehicle finally came to a stop by FM 2030 and Alamo Street. The driver, identified as Adrian Gonzalez, was placed under arrest.

Public Intoxication-A concerned citizen told deputies that several male subjects were gathering daily at the Maverick County Lake by the Motel 6 fence line. Citizen further told deputies that the subjects were consuming alcoholic beverages and were yelling and making unnecessary comments. Further investigations led to the arrest of Santos Campos, Albert Robles, and Jose Hernandez.

Injury Report-Deputies responded to Rosita Valley Road, near the Oasis swimming pool, in reference to a pedestrian having been possibly run over by a motor vehicle. Units arrived and spoke with a male juvenile, who told deputies he was riding on top of the hood of a Ford Focus when he lost his grip and fell off of the car. The driver of the Ford, also identified as a male juvenile, told deputies he managed to brake as his friend was falling off of the hood. EMS crews were summoned to the location and the juvenile was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
