Deputies were dispatched to Ibarra Road minutes prior to the 8:00 PM hour Monday evening, after a dog was reportedly attacking children. Upon arrival, officers made contact with forty-five year old Armando Velez, who stated three juveniles were being attacked by the dog near the canal area. Mr. Velez further stated he shot the dog with his handgun. Two thirteen year old males were attacked by the animal and suffered lacerations to the body. They were both transported by EMS crews to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment.
