Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Las Quintas subdivision of Maverick County Saturday afternoon after a discovery was made at an apartment complex in the area. At approximately 2:55 PM, deputies made their way to the complex and met with the owner who stated gardeners working on the lawn found five marijuana plants growing in the back yard. Residents of the apartment were questioned and told deputies that they had no knowledge of the plants. The plants were then removed and transported to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office evidence locker. The case was referred to the Criminal Investigations Unit for further investigation.
