Deputies were dispatched to Highway 277 North Thursday evening after receiving reports of a rollover accident. Units arrived approximately 12 miles out of the city limits to find a 2003 Dodge Caravan on its side after apparently having struck a light pole. Contact was made with the driver and the passenger of the vehicle, later identified as thirty-three year old Jacob Quintenia and twenty-seven year old Catholine Corkill. The couple were traveling northbound on Highway 277 with their two year old when the driver stated an 18 wheeler came onto his driving lane, causing Mr. Quintenia to swerve in order to avoid an accident. He then lost control of the vehicle, where it ultimately ended on its passenger side. EMS crews were summoned to the location and transported the occupants of the mini-van to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical center for treatment. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived at the scene and has since taken over investigations.
